Hi I'm Christian

I grew up in England . I speak English, French and a little Lingala.

About Me

I am from Birmingham,England and have lived there all my life. I am a student studying Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at university and enjoy playing volleyball, football and the piano. I love music!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church as a young married couple and so I grew up with the teachings of the gospel. Having said that, choices make more of a difference than the environment. In my mid teens, it was a difficult time of my life where I needed to know whether it was worth continuing or not. I decided to ask God whether this was his church or not, having resolved to stop getting involved in church if I got no answer and having decided to keep going and make the Lord more of a priority if I got one. I spent time praying over the course of a couple of days and in time received my answer. I knew the church was true. Today, I am truly happy. I'm not perfect, but the Lord blesses me every day in so many ways. He has made my weaknesses into strengths and though I am imperfect, I know that God loves me and that he will help me overcome my challenges and problems in life. I know with every fiber of my being that this is the true church, because of the answer to my prayers, because of the fulfillment of God's promises when I follow his counsel and because of a greater study of the scriptures. When I fall, he will lift me up if I but remain faithful to Him.

How I live my faith

Between 2008-2010 I was a missionary for the Church in the France Paris Mission, where I was blessed to be able to serve the French and Belgian members of the church. From thise experience I gained a great love of the people and I saw many miracles happen. I currently serve in my home ward as a home teacher, visiting several families each month to uplift them and serve them. I hold a calling in the church where I see firsthand the power of inspiration directing the programs of the Lord's church. I try to live my life so that I can see how to better help others and share with them this wonderful message.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

It's a good question. Cults are groups that are harmful to the people involved or get money (or other goods) through extortion, persuasion etc. It is possible that people believe that the Church is harmful but I cannot understand why. As a member, I make choices for myself and I am free to do as I wish. There is no precept of the gospel that can harm, quite the opposite in fact, the gospel heals. People occasionally tell me that the church is cult, but I have never heard a single reason why to date. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we believe the Bible to be the word of God. I love the Bible and have found much in the Old Testament that related to my life. I can empathise with the feelings of Jeremiah as he is rejected of the people and with Job as he is mocked by those who should support him. I have read that sacred book many times and will read it many more. I have the firm conviction that anyone who reads and ponders over the Old and New Testaments in their entirety and then reads the Book of Mormon, will see that God is the same today, yeserday and forever.
