Hi I'm Laura

I'm a Mormon. Mom of 5 great kids and college mom to 150!

About Me

Life is challenging but wonderful! I am a people person and love to help those around me find the resources they need to make their lives run more smoothly. Reading, swimming, crocheting baby blankets for my church friends and learning about new people and places makes life so much more enjoyable to me. My work includes being a surrogate mom to about 150 college students and managing a university office for and LDS Institute of Religion.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the LDS faith, I have come to know for myself that what I learned as a child has sunk deep into my heart and mind and has helped me to become the woman I am today. Not perfect, but always trying to be better! My faith in Jesus Christ and God the Father has helped me understand that I am a daughter of God and that I have been blessed with talents and experiences that will help me be the best that I can be. Even amidst difficulties and sorrow, I feel them close to me, encouraging me, prompting me to continue on and leading me to feeling more hope, happiness and peace.

How I live my faith

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I hope that the things I say and do reflect who I follow. Serving in my community has always been important to me. I have had the opportunity to work on several school district committees over the past 25 years as well as at the Elemlentary, Middle School and High School levels. My husband and I were foster parents for pregnant teens and infants for serveral years and volunteered at the LDS Family Services office. In my early twenties I served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Germany. I have served as a president to our church women's group, worked with teens and am currently working with children ages 8 -11 years. One of my greatest opportunities and blessings is to visit the homes of LDS women and encourage them to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that we have the priviledge of supporting and loving each other and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps me to do this.
