Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a Mormon. And it's changed my life for the better. I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves me.

About Me

I have been an active member for the last 23 years. I was baptized at age 8, but quit going to church in my twenties. I came back to church in my thirties so I could raise my children with a knowledge of their Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. It was the best decision I ever made. I love to quilt and I love to sew. I am married with mostly grown children. I like to spend time at the beach watching the waves and the sunset. God has created a beautiful earth for us to enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Glad tidings of great joy shared with us from our Heavenly Father to help us in our time on this earth, that we may return to him and be with him again as resurrected persons. Wow! I know this to be true. I have prayed about it and felt it physically in my heart. Heavenly Father lives and hears our prayers. He wants us to understand and know him. I don't get that feeling in other churches. I am married to a man of a different faith and he just doesn't have the knowledge that I do. Everthing in the Church testifies that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Through him I am forgivven. Wow! He loves all of us.

How I live my faith

I try to be a faithful follower of Christ seven days a week, not just on Sundays. It's not always easy, but I try. I try to read my scriptures, even if it's just a verse or a chapter, everyday. I don't always, but I try. I try and keep the ten commandments as well as other promises I have made to the Lord. I am a better mom, wife and friend because of it. I teach once a month in our ladies group. This gives me a chance for more indepth study of a topic and I always learn so much from this opportunity.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

That it is absolutley neccessary for us to be baptized by someone who has actual Priesthood authority in order for us to enter our Heavenly Father's presence. Baptism must be done in the name of Jesus Christ. It is not neccessary for babies and small children who have no concept of sin. When a child reaches an age where they understand right and wrong, good and evil then they may choose to be baptized. It is a wonderful experience to be cleansed from all sin and take upon one the name of their Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
