Hi I'm Kierstin

I am a college student studying accounting and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying accounting. I love playing the piano, reading, and sewing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family with a long history of Mormons. Initially, I went to church and other things because it was the norm. As I've moved out and lived on my own, I have learned how much peace and harmony the gospel has brought into my life. I wouldn't change it for the world. My life can get pretty crazy but when I focus on the things that matter most, somehow everything falls right into place and everything I need to do gets done.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving as a missionary for the church in Colorado Springs and teaching all the people I meet about how much the church has changed my life. I am so blessed to be immersed in the teachings of the church and be able to share that with all the people around me. It has become so much of a lifestyle that the gospel is who I am. I can't imagine my life without the gospel and all of the blessings that come with it. The simple steps of keeping the commandments, reading my scriptures daily, and praying daily bring so much happiness into my life.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. Mormons highly regard Joseph Smith as a prophet but we believe that he was just like us. He was not perfect in any way. He is no different than any other prophet found in the Bible such as Moses, Noah or Adam. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries proselyte because it gives other people the opportunity to share in the same blessings that we have as members of the church. Having served a mission, I feel a strong desire for everyone to be able to experience the happiness and joy that I have. It is because of proselyting that all of God's children can receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Jesus Christ set the example for all of us when He went to John the Baptist and was baptized. Not everyone who is born gets the chance to be baptized for various reasons. Since that is the case, we go to the temple and are baptized for those who did not get the chance to be baptized. This allows them to have the opportunity to receive the blessings that come from baptism if they choose to accept the work that is done for them. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are the basis of everything we do in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are where we learn and grow and develop the skills we need to be successful in life. Since we have the opportunity to be with our families forever, it makes it even more important to develop those strong relationships. Show more Show less
