Hi I'm Joshua Owen

I was raised in Las Vegas. I've been a welder and sheet metal fabricator building casino signs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a hard worker who grew up with parents that taught me the value of earning things on your own. I played highschool sports and enjoy just about every sport out there. I'm proud of my heritage, and I'm proud to be an American. I'm grateful the peace and the joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought into my life, and I enjoy sharing it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mormon , because I know for myself personally that the Book of Mormon is truly inspired scripture from God. I've grown up in the church my whole life, and I didn't always do the things I was raised to do. There were times in my life when I honestly was not sure if I believed in the Church or its teachings. I questioned and rebelled just a little in ways when I was younger, and thought to myself, " Would it just be easier to live like other people or not worry about church so much? " I eventually realized in my teenage years and early 20's, that when I didn't live the principles and the doctrines I was taught in the church, I was miserable. I was never happy with myself or my decisions. I offended my closest friends and family members almost to the point of seperating myself from them. Eventually I resolved to find the answers to questions myself. I knelt in prayer to my Heavenly Father, and I bore my soul. I pleaded with my God for guidence and direction in my life. I asked if the things I had been taught about Joseph Smith being a prophet were true or not. I prayed putting my trust and faith in God asking if the Book of Mormon was truly scripture. A feeling of comfort and peace overwhelmed my heart and soul. I knew that my loving Heavenly Father had answered my prayers and told me that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that without a doubt Jesus Christ is my Lord, Saviour, and Redeemer. I know that he suffered for my sins, so that through repentence of my mistakes I can be worthy and able to return to the presence of a God that loves me. I'm a member of this church because I know that it is truly the church of Jesus Christ. This is his church once again on the earth in its fulness with a living prophet to help guide and direct us in our lives, through revelation he recieves from God. Without the church in my life and the testimony of the restored gospel that I have, I could truly say that I would be in a place in my life where I would not be happy. The gospel has saved my life, and I have seen it save the lives of others. I know that God has a plan for me and those that I love. I also know that the way everyone can come to know of this plan for themselves is by attending this Church. I challenge who ever is reading this, even if you're a member of the Church, to kneel before your Heavenly Father and ask him the same questions I did. I promise and testify to each of you that if you do these things you will recieve an answer from God telling you that Joseph Smith was the chosen Prophet of God to restore Jesus Christ's gospel back to the earth in its fulness. You will know that the Book of Mormon is truly scripture and inspired writing from God, and that by reading from it you will gain a better understanding of your Heavenly Father, and what he expects from you. I know these things true, and I know that we can all know of these truths for ourselves. It brings happiness and joy to my soul to be blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that it can and will bring that same happiness to anyone else who is seeking the truth, and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example to all those around me each and every day. I love to share the message of the gospel with my friends and acquintences. I try to do my best to help others in any way that I can. I help in church activities, and I help others in their personal lives. I believe that the best way any of us can live or faith, is by honestly striving to be the best person we can be. We should strive to help others less fortunate then ourselves. We should raise children to do the same. We as a world population collectively should strive to better ourselves in every way as children of God. I live standards in my life that others might think extreme or unencisary. I know what my Father in Heaven and my Savior expect fo me, and so I live my life centered around my faith.
