Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a college student. I'm a runner. I'm a traveler. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to run and exercise. Nothing feels better than a long run on a beautiful, sunny day! My love of running is probably one of the biggest reasons why I'm studying Athletic Training as a junior in college. I love being with my family and am so grateful to be a part of something so amazing. As the oldest of five, it was sometimes hard being the big sister that leads the way in everything. But it's also been a blessing. It gave me the opportunity to grow closer to them and show them that life is a gift and that we need to embrace it. Moving to different houses, towns, and even countries was hard, but it was an incredible experience in my life to have been exposed to other cultures. No matter where we moved, the church was there and the members were strong. It was a huge testimony builder to me to see the growth of the church in other countries and to feel the love of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the members living there.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the church to loving and active parents, that doesn't mean that I haven't had to work to gain a testimony of my own. Through reading the Book of Mormon and praying to my Heavenly Father, I have felt His love and know, without a doubt, that His gospel has been restored to the earth today through the prophet Joseph Smith. The gospel brings indescribable joy into my life and I don't know where I would be without it. I know that no matter who you are, what you've done, or where you are, your Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ love you more than you can imagine. We are all divine sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for us and wants us to return to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to "stand as a witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places" and by being an example to those around me. I've been blessed to work with the youth of the church and love seeing their love of the gospel and their willingness to learn more. I'm not perfect and I know I can do a lot to improve, but I also know that if we have a desire to be like our Savior and we try do be like Him, our lives will be blessed.
