Hi I'm Terry

I live in beautiful Oregon. I'm a husband, father and grandfather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very happily married to my eternal wife, we have a total of 6 children together...ours is a Brady Bunch situation her's, mine, and ours. We live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest but are both originally from Southern California. For the first 22 years of my working life I was in radio broadcasting covering all aspects from disc jockey to ownership. For the last 16 years however I have been working as a truck mechanic. It was a drastic change in careers but I couldn't be happier. I enjoy collecting coins, good old rock n' roll, playing video games with my #3 son, and watching movies with my wife on lazy Saturday afternoons.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church and the first in my family. The missionaries knocked on my door when I was a young married 21 year old. They came at the right time as I was searching for anything to help me understand why I am here. As I was taught I learned all the answers to all the questions I ever had about where I came from, why I'm here and where I can go after death. I learned that we have a loving Heavenly Father who has not stopped communicating with us...He loves us so much that He guides us still this day through His prophet just as He has promised us in the Bible. I learned that He has given us further truth and knowledge about the Kingdom of Heaven through the other testament of our Savior, The Book of Mormon. As I grew in the church and learned about the Gospel it was like a large puzzle was being pieced together....everything fit, everything made sense and at the same time the Holy Spirit made these truths known to me. I learned that the Lord knows us individually and loves us dearly. The Gospel of Jesus Christ changed my life and brought me true joy. If missionaries ever knock on your door....let them in, listen to their message with an open heart and you too can find that same joy in life. It is my testimony to you that He lives, He loves us and this is His church restored to the Earth.

How I live my faith

I think living your faith really means to just live your life to the Lords standard. If you remember the Saviors commandment to "Love thy neighbor" that pretty much covers it all. Are we not commanded to serve our fellow man, clothe the naked, feed the hungry, comfort the sick? Are we not asked to keep all God's commandments? Well, that's how myself and my family live our faith...we strive to be more like Him....as in Joshua, "Choose you this day who ye will serve....as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord". Part of living my faith includes serving in the church, currently I serve as an assistant to the leader of the High Priest group in our congregation. I also serve in a small capacity in the Temple. It has been a huge blessing in my life to serve the Lord's people.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Terry
As the Bible is a collection of books written by Prophets about God's dealings with the peoples of the Middle East. The Book of Mormon is also a collection of books written by Prophets about God's dealings with the peoples of the American continents. Both sets of scripture enhance each other as they both testify of our Savior. The Book of Mormon was given to the people of the Earth for further understanding of the Lord's kingdom, it clarifies the message of the Bible and restores plain and simple truths that have been lost. Used side by side these two sets of scriptures give a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ's life, ministry and divinity. Show more Show less
