Hi I'm Cara

I am a wife and mother who works from home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Europe as an Air Force brat, but have mostly grown up in the United States. I graduated from college with a degree in Sociology, and got a job working for a market research firm that I've held for 11 years. I also got married at age 22, and now have 3 sons and 2 daughters. I work part-time from home with my kids playing around me. I minored in theatre studies, and I love to read adventure, fantasy, and science fiction novels. I play the piano, cross-stitch, and attempt cooking on a daily basis! I also run a preschool in my home 2 days a week where we do lots of cutting, gluing and coloring.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gained a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a young girl. I love this Church and I continue to live as a Mormon because it brings happiness to my life and peace to my family - but most of all because I know Jesus Christ to be at the head of this Church. We are led by a Prophet of God and I strive to follow the teachings of the prophets and the scriptures. I have a testimony that this Church is the restored Church of Christ, not some new church put together by men. It is a Gospel of faith, peace, charity, humility, and miracles. I love my Savior, and so I try to follow in His way.

How I live my faith

We attend our regular Sunday church meetings every week, and we try to keep the Sabbath Day holy by not spending money on Sunday or playing sports or other similar type activities on Sunday. During the week we hold Family Home Evening on Monday nights, where we teach Gospel lessons to our children. We read the scriptures together and pray together. We also live our faith in the way we treat other people and behave every day. We strive to always be honest and to be kind. We look for ways to help others and reach out to people instead of ignoring those around us. My husband and I volunteer to serve at church as well. My husband is the Cubmaster in our Cub Scouts troop. I serve in a leadership position in our women's organization, which is called Relief Society. I help to organize and carry out activities, workshops, and service projects for the women in our group.
