Hi I'm Mandy

I prefer to eat ice cream at breakfast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a funny man and a stay-at-home mom to three beautiful kids. I love to read (a little too much....my husband finds it odd that I routinely read a book while I'm brushing my teeth). When I'm not reading you would probably find me singing in the shower or dancing around the house. Yeah, actually I'm probably also reading at the same time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and always went to church. It wasn't until I went away to college when I was 17, that I had to decide for myself if that was something that I wanted to continue to do. Over those next four years (through some trial and error!) I came to know that the church that I had grown up in held the truth that so many people in this world are searching for. I gained an assurance of what it was that my Savior wanted me to know and do. I want to be a follower of Jesus Christ, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to always be in the right place at the right time. I believe that God puts people in our path specifically to help us with our needs. I try to be aware of my surroundings and look outward instead of inward so that I can be that person if He needs me to be. To me serving others is how I best live my faith. Jesus always served, if I profess to follow him, that is what I need to do too. I am constantly trying to teach this to my children.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, Mormons do not only help Mormons. I have had friends from other faiths ask me this question and they are always amazed to hear about what the Church does in terms of disaster relief for war or disaster torn areas of the world. The church coordinates the delivery of emergency supplies, food, hygiene and infant kits at no cost to these areas sometimes for a long extended period of time. Personally, I try to help everyone around me. My neighbors are not members of my church and I love them and try to do things for them every chance I have. Jesus Christ was no respector of persons, so why should I be? Show more Show less
