Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up in California, I am in my last year of college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am majoring in English. I am in my last year of college as an undergraduate student. I studied abroad for a semester in Australia. I want to become an English teacher. Hobbies of mine include reading, playing board games, outdoor activities, and playing volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents became members of the church before I was born, so I have been raised in the church. However, as I have gotten older, it is my choice to attend. I do so, because I know that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true. I have been taught good principles my entire life, however, once I took it upon myself to ask Heavenly Father if the teachings I have been taught were true, I learned that they were. I know that the Bible and Book of Mormon are true words of God and that they testify of Jesus Christ. I know that my purpose on this earth is strive to grow close to Heavenly Father, to learn of Jesus Christ, and to follow his example. Jesus Christ performed the atonement for me so that I have the opportunity to repent and make each day better. I know that when I make mistakes, I can be forgiven, if I humbly ask my Father in Heaven for forgiveness. By attending church I gain knowledge and the spiritual edification I need to see past the wrongful philosophies that others have, and allow my testimony to shine forth. I grow as I learn from others and exercise my faith. I pray to Heavenly Father who loves me, knows me, and is there to guide me everyday of my life through the promptings and comfort of the Holy Ghost. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet called by God to lead and direct each of us on earth at this time. We are given direct counsel that our Heavenly Father needs us to hear at this time. President Monson is given the ability to faithfully and correctly oversee the church and guide us in ways that our Heavenly Father would have us go. I know that the priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. That this church is the only church on the earth with the proper authority to take part in sacred ordinances with God. The priesthood is here to bless and enrich each one of our lives. It is yet another tool we have been given to draw closer to our savior and Heavenly Father. I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best everyday to follow the teachings of the church. I try to be an example through the use of good language, by doing service for others, by striving to have a good attitude, and by taking part in uplifting activities. I attend church every Sunday and Institute classes during the week. I have friends who are LDS and many who are not. I allow my faith and virtuous choices to become a part of my daily life and strive to be an example to others, but also to learn from the righteous actions of others. I pray and read my scriptures daily, which helps give me the strength I need to choose the right, and also gives me the companionship of the Holy Ghost, who guides me daily.
