Hi I'm Ellesse

I'm an actress & musician, avid book reader & Doctor Who fan. I'm a Canadian living in Salt Lake, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate from Southern Utah University with a Bachelors in Classical Acting- I love acting in the means of storytelling. I have always enjoyed a good story. I currently work in Arts Administration and am like everyone trying to figure out which path to walk down next. I've recently returned home from teaching ESL abroad in Moscow. Russia taught me a lot about myself and I am thankful for that experience. Other than that- pretty typical. I'm a happy person, I love spending time with my family and my family of friends- music and reading. It's a good life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for a number of reasons. The easiest one to explain is to clearly state that I know my Father lives and loves me, and I feel his comfort and assurance when I aline myself with this gospel. Everyone has their own conversion time, I had mine and I continue to honor my faith & it's principles by trying to live it the best I can.

How I live my faith

I mentioned before that I studied Theatre in college, being in that atmosphere brought up many conversations with my friends about my faith. Individuality has always been a big pull for me, that people be who they are, and individuality has always been encouraged in my upbringing both with my family and my faith. In acting, when you become someone else I learned that it was important to have a strong sense of 'self' to pull back to- being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a big part of who I am. Gives me balance, keeps me centered. "When He talks of them losing their selves, He means only abandoning their clamour of self-will; once they have done that, He really gives them back their personality, and boast (I'm afraid sincerely) that when they are wholly His they will be more themselves than ever."- C.S. Lewis

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

It's a way for us to preform sacred ordinances on those who have already passed away. When I do work for my family who's passed on, or work for others I've never met- I think about the bond I've created with them, beyond blood. An eternal recognition. Show more Show less
