Hi I'm Lori

I'm a college English instructor, a twin, a newlywed—and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate with a double major in human development and English and a master's degree in nineteenth-century British literature. I'm enjoying not being in school at the moment, although I'm still in a college setting. I'm currently teaching at a local university and loving it. I enjoy reading, baking, talking with my husband, and spending time with my parents and siblings.

Why I am a Mormon

Christ taught that "if any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." This has happened for me. As I have studied the scriptures, prayed, and done my best to live the way that the Church teaches, I have had a confirmation in my heart that it is true. Being Mormon is, above all else, about following Christ, and this is what has brought me the most happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I study the scriptures and pray daily, both alone and with my husband. I attend church every week and volunteer as a pianist and Sunday school teacher. I also attend the temple as often as I can. One of the most important ways that I live my faith is by making time for the things that are most important. Family is a huge part of my life, and my husband and I make time to talk with our parents, his three sisters, and my three brothers and four sisters on a weekly basis.
