Hi I'm Tyler Kelly

I'm an Aussie, I juggle, Ou te tautala faasamoa laititi. I play AFL and love living life my Tyler style.

About Me

I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently riding a Suzuki GS500 while I await the day for full time work and can buy my 1K super sports bike. Im quite often just out and about visiting friends, doing things for others or at home on the computer. I love to just spend time with others regardless of age or gender to be a friend and have heaps of fun. I am studying at the University of Southern Queensland, Bachelor of Health maj. Biomedical Science. After this I plan to study to be a paramedic, save the world. Then go into medicine eventually Most of all though, im a fun loving, 22 year old guy doing my best to follow God

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know its the truth. I've studied, I've prayed and after daily experiences feeling and seeing God's love its left no other option for me than the fact this comes from Him. I have had specific experiences that have come from God, that point towards the reality of the Book of Mormon, the Lord's calling of Joseph Smith as a prophet to restore the Church of Jesus Christ and the knowledge that Thomas S Monson is God's mouthpiece and prophet on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a true friend. I believe that a friend should be someone who leaves you better than when he found you. Sometimes that's hard because it involves helping people stretch and get out of their comfort zones. But I imagine Christ got a lot of that as well In the past I have taught the 16-18 year old boys during the last hour of our church meeting, along with that assignment I co-ordinated the youth group during the week for the boys between 12-18 occasionally taking the opportunity to organise and run the actual activity. I currently organise a weekly at home activity for those Young Single Adults who are living away from home and would like to feel part of a family. Most importantly the way I lived my faith was by treating people as I felt the saviour would. I would often take notice of those who were in need, physically or spiritually and I would do what I could to help them through. This was my motivation and my reward, to see people's countenance change, lives improve and families strengthened, as we all pulled together and worked "in the unity of the faith" Ephesians 4:13.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Tyler Kelly
No, not all mormons are required to serve missions, however, every young man has been asked to serve a mission. For young females and senior couples there is no official call to serve a mission, but if they choose to do so it is a tremendous blessing. Because we believe in living prophets, we believe they speak the word of God. Our Prophet and President of the Church, President Thomas S. Monson, has reissued the call for every young man to prepare to serve a mission. This in turn means the Lord has asked, through him, that every young man prepare to serve a mission. If we are truely committed to living our faith, we would honour that call. The question then, no longer stands as "Will i serve a mission?", it becomes "Will I follow the call of our Saviour through His living prophet?" In this light, a young man has to consider whether he is willing to keep the commandments of God or whether he will just do what he wants. Show more Show less
