Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a Husband, a Father of 3, a sports nut, a Structural Engineer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Washington State, near Olympia. I am part of a large family, 9 boys and 3 girls, most of whom are active members of the LDS church. It was amazing to have family members there to help support each other in our daily activities along with our faith. I grew up on 9 acres for most of my life...crazy fun at our house!!! I went on a mission to Porto Alegre, Brazil right after high school and to this day I truly love the Brazilian people and dream of returning there someday with my wife. I am married to the most beautiful and incredible woman whom I met while attending Washington State University. I am a father of 3 children and love being a daddy! I love many things like sports, music, cars, and tinkering. I have worked as a Structural Engineer for 11 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life which has been a huge blessing to me. I have always had "believing blood" and had no problems with believing what my parents and church leaders taught although there came a time when I had to figure out for myself if the church was true or not. There is a promise given in the Book of Mormon to all who read it. The promise is that if you read and pray about what is in the Book you can know, through prayer, that it is a true book. The Book of Mormon is truthfully, as it states in the title of the book, Another Testiment of Jesus Christ. Everything in the book testifies of Christ. I know that through Christ we can be cleansed of all our shortcomings if we follow what he teaches...that is what I love most about being a Mormon, or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It really is in the name, everything we do is following his teachings and trying to be better people, more like Christ is.

How I live my faith

I strive to be a very kind and understanding person. I try to live my life so that others can feel good about themselves. I currently am a teacher in one of the Sunday classes at church, I also am a hometeacher. Everyone in the church is responsible to care for one another and Hometeaching is one way of organizing that effort. I love music. I especially love Christmas music whether it be singing it or humming it, because I probably forgot the lyrics, it brings a special peace and spirit to sing about Christ. I also spend as much time as I can with my young family, they are my life!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is so important, we cannot be saved in the kingdom of God without it for we all sin and fall short of the mark. We believe that we are all saved by grace but not by grace alone. Christ taught us that we also need to do our part, Christ is reaching out for all of us but we need to reach up to him through our works, showing him that we are willing to do our part. How can I know Mormonism is true?

There is only one way to really know if what we believe is true, that is to follow the counsel given in James 1:5-6 which says to ask of God. Only he can give you that answer...you can know the truth of all things by asking God in humble prayer. Your answer may come in a variety of different ways which may include feelings of peace, hope, comfort, or happiness. These feelings are from the Holy Ghost (the) spirit telling you that these things are true. Show more Show less
