Hi I'm Sergio

I was born in Guatemala City, I love outdoors, soccer and to have fun, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a person who likes to share time with his friends, love sports and totally likes to learn about God since he has played a big role in my life, currently I live by myself since my mom passed away when I was 5 years old and my dad when I was 16, as sad as it may seem it's actually a blessing that has allowed me to learn how to face today's challenging world with no fear or doubt about my capabilities or even doubting about how I am, usually I play soccer at least twice a week, work everyday and attend college, some say that I'm smart.. hahaha well I think that I just love studying, I'm currently studying chemical engineering and I love all those weird looking symbols and drawings we do, some say that believing in science and God are two things that cannot be together, however I've found out that understanding how this beautiful world in which we are is formed it fills me with a surety that there is a supreme mind, a great mentor of all

Why I am a Mormon

Well out of all the questions you may ask me, this is the one that I would actually love to answer. I basically grew up by myself all the time, and I had enough time to basically do whatever I wanted, however there was something that I liked more than watching tv or playing video games, and that was reading!!. One day I came across a bible, a book I had never read before even though I grew up in a catholic home, we never went to church we just lighted candles to some saints and said the Lord's prayer every day, however when I read the bible I could stop, I was just 8 years of age, and after 6 weeks I had read the whole book from paste to paste and I understood that what we were doing as a family tradition wasn't exactly what heavenly Father wanted me to do therefore I decided to find out what church I should go to, and I did, I went to a protestant/Pentecostal church where I learned a ton about the gospel and God's commandments and that point of my life I thought I had found what I needed, however a few years latter two sister missionaries talked to me and invited me to go to church with them, I was very reluctant to do that because I supposed I knew everything and that they were wrong..... after a few weeks I found myself reading the book of Mormon and this warm and clear feeling of joy, love and surety came to my soul as it had never felt before and I asked if that book was true, and indeed I receive a confirmation of it by the Holy Ghost testifying to me of its truthfulness and the holiness of the work it testifies about it literally changed everything and after carefully reading it in comparison with the bible I understood that they both testify of Jesus the Christ the great redeemer of the world who came to atone for the sins off all those who are members of humankind, since then I've gone and came back from a full-time mission in the Idaho Pocatello mission, and now I'm strong in my faith living it and sharing it with as much people as I can.

How I live my faith

Living my faith isn't something easy, it has required a lot of changes from my side, since I got baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints when I was 14 years old and my relatives are not member of the same church so abiding by the teachings of Jesus Christ and his prophets has given me chances to share my believes with family and friends, also at church I serve helping other to understand the doctrine we know to be true and making new people coming feeling more comfortable, I'm also responsible of watching over the well-fare of the families attending church both material and spiritual, indeed I spend a lot of time serving, helping and understanding other, these makes me feel more like an angel in people's life since sometimes I become the answer to their prayers.
