Hi I'm Russ

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, exercise, play ultimate Frisbee, hike, and travel. I also enjoy visiting U.S. Presidential museums (12 so far!), state historical museums, state capital buildings, and my church's temples. I studied statistics in college and worked as a statistician for a few years. I'm currently working as a software engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He suffered and died for my sins, and that He has provided the gift of the resurrection for all who live on the earth. I often feel my faith in Him strengthened as I read the scriptures, pray, fast, associate with others who also believe, and listen to and watch uplifting media. My faith in Jesus Christ motivates me to try to follow His commandments and to prepare myself to meet Him again. I believe that the Book of Mormon is true because I often feel my faith in Jesus Christ and my desire to do good strengthened as I read it. This increase in faith and desire comes from the power of the Holy Ghost which helps us to understand truth and to do what is right. I am convinced that the Book of Mormon contains the writings of ancient prophets who were inspired to write those things which would be of benefit to us today.

How I live my faith

I currently work as a Boy Scout leader and participate in weekly activities, monthly campouts, and a high adventure activity each summer. I work with a great group of leaders and young men and am grateful for the opportunity to serve and to develop these friendships. I have also served as a home teacher for many years and have been blessed to become better acquainted with and to serve friends with whom I wouldn't have otherwise had close contact. I've been blessed by having my own home teachers and enjoy receiving monthly visits.
