Hi I'm Anna

I love to play soccer, Love the outdoors, Studying Business Hospitality. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a normal young adult. I work, go to school, and have many non-LDS friends as well as LDS friends. I love to help others, love to camp, hike, play sports, watch movies and listen to music. When I meet new people they don’t think I’m Mormon at first because I’m just a regular person, and after a few days I tell them that I am a Mormon, nothing changes, we still talk, hangout, watch movies and eat food. They realize that Mormons are no different than other people we just have a few different standards than others. I’m pretty outgoing and am open to a lot of fun ideas and love my religion and the fact that I am myself.

Why I am a Mormon

My junior year of high school was when I really discovered my faith. I had friends leaving and coming into the church. All my life I have been Mormon, and had always gone to church because of my parents, I wouldn’t always pay attention or retain the information, and when I found out that in high school I had to wake up at 5am to go to seminary before school, I wasn’t to pleased. But after a few months in and I could stay awake and listen, I found myself really listening. It came to the point where I felt weird if I didn’t go to seminary. I felt like I was missing a huge part of my day. If I didn’t go, my day at school would always be significantly worse than if I had went. So Junior year came and I decided that I would really try to test my faith and read the Book of Mormon more thoroughly, try to say my prayers and really find my true testimony. And it was hard. I started going to church though because i wanted to, not just because my parents would take us. Other experiences that happened that year to me really made me realize how blessed I really was, and made me able to look back on my life and really see the blessings that our heavenly father had given me. From that point on my senior year to present, I’ve done nothing but continue to strengthen my testimony, know my testimony, share more of the gospel, and be more sure of the gospel.

How I live my faith

Every night before I go to sleep I pray giving thanks for the day and events that happened, repented for the things I had done wrong, and asked for Heavenly Father to bless my family, friends, and those who are struggling. I study my Book of Mormon and the Bible during the week, and go to all of my church meetings every Sunday as well as other church activities during the week such as family home evening and Institute. I take the opportunity to share my faith with others I meet either at school or at work, I dress modestly, and stand proud of who I am.

What is faith?

Faith is having courage to believe in anything. Knowing that he is and will always be there for you and will listen to you and you know it without having to see it. It is true and unconditional love for the lord and his church.  Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

I like to compare wards, stakes, and branches to schools. Your high school is like a ward, depending on where you live puts you in a high school. Your stake is like your school district, there are multipul high schools in a district, just like there are many wards in a stake. A branch, is like a elementary school and the kids like members, as the kids grow and get older the branch gaining more members they move up to a middle school and eventually a high school. Just like when a branch gains more members it is called a ward. Show more Show less
