Hi I'm Liz

I'm a small town girl who taught public school in the big city. I'm a new mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just starting my career as a stay at home mom. Adjustment has been challenging, but the rewards reach far beyond any pay check I've ever earned. Before my son came into our life, I was a public school English teacher in the inner-city. When I need a break from the happenings of a busy life, I like to play basketball or read a well written piece of literature.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I always loved hearing stories of my heritage. My great-great grandfather left his life and wealth in Denmark and traveled half way across the globe to live in a mud hut in the Utah desert; I grew up in the same small farming community he helped build. His story of sacrifice meant so much to me, and I've never doubted the truth of the religion he sacrificed it all for. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints has brought so much peace to my life. I've learned that instead of asking "why" I should ask "what do I have to learn." Through every trial, our Savior Jesus Christ will make us stronger. Whenever I'm failing to reach a goal or find an answer, I determine to read the Book of Mormon every day until the goal is reached or the answer given. This has never failed me. During the busiest times of my life, the Book of Mormon has helped me find great balance, endless joy, and a feeling of extraordinary self worth. I know God loves all His children. I know He has prepared a way for us to return to live with Him. I know His son, Jesus Christ, can take away our burdens and our sins. I know The Book of Mormon changes lives.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints has brought so many blessings to my life. I was always taught the value of a good education, both of things temporal and spiritual. I've had multiple opportunities to serve people in my communities, both in the United States and in South East Asia. Whenever I move to a new city I know I will find safety, comfort, and friendship within the local Church congregation. The teachings of the Church give me the confidence I need to raise my children in a world full of heartache and temptation. For the last 4 years the Church has given me an opportunity to teach nursery and elementary age children the basic teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. These experiences have already blessed me as a mother.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Liz
Proselyting as a Mormon missionary was the most challenging and rewarding experience I have ever had. I chose to serve a mission because I wanted to share the love of Jesus Christ with God's children. Show more Show less
