Hi I'm Stephen Hixon

I'm a Mormon. I am a husband, father, son and brother. I am thankful for the path and journey that my life is.

About Me

I was born in Southern California into a large family. Ten to be exact. I was born the eighth child and the fifth boy in the small town on Simi Valley. We grew up as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father was a convert to the church and my mother grew up as a member. Together they raised my siblings and I to love the Lord and follow his teachings. I spent the better part of my growing up years playing and following sports. To this day I continue to play basketball regularly and I love watching football. I am a husband and a father of six children. This is where my greatest joy lies. When our babies were little we moved from the comforts of our small town to a town we knew very little about. Arizona quickly became our home and we have enjoyed raising our kids here in the desert. When I'm not at work (I work in the construction industry) I spend my time helping my sweetheart and being a dad. I love to cook. The kitchen and I have become great friends. I've also spent many years coaching soccer and basketball teams for my kids. Life has so much to offer, and it is enhanced as these experiences are shared with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in God, I believe that He is our Supreme Creator. I believe that His Son is Jesus Christ. I believe that this life on this Earth is a test for me to prove my faith and will to my Heavenly Father. I believe that through Gods omnipotent power I am personally attended to. I know that God loves and cares about me and wants me to overcome adversity and trials by recognizing and accepting the way and the path laid by my Savior. My hope is that I can prove my will and ultimately return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

My faith defines every aspect of my life. Within the church I currently serve as a counselor to our Bishop who presides over the families in our congregation. One of my favorite parts of that calling is working with the boy scouts in our ward family. I love the scouting program. When I am not serving directly within this capacity I try to live my faith in every other area of my life. At work I strive to be honest and give an honest days work for my wages. I strive to help my neighbors and be active in our community. Most importantly I live my faith as I strive to be a diligent father to my children and try to be a loyal and loving spouse. Who I am within my home helps me to be that person outside of my home.
