Hi I'm Linda

I love food and I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Food and family. Those are probably my two favorite things. The best part of my day is dinner time when my family gathers around the table to eat, talk and laugh together. So when one of my children required a drastic change in diet (no gluten, no dairy, no sugar) for health reasons it rocked my world. I knew that the whole family would have to follow the diet in order to support my child. There were many tears, much frustration, discouragement, many failures, trial and error, and many, many prayers. Through the grace of God, through His enabling power, we were able to do it, and after some practice, we were able to do it well. I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a neighbor, a friend, a teacher, a life-long learner, a "domestic goddess" and I am a Mormon. In other words, I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a witness for myself from God that this church is true. Isn't it wonderful that a person doesn't have to rely on the witness of someone else, but can receive that assurance personally from God? I also know from my own experience that living the principles of the gospel makes me happy, brings me peace, and gives me the strength to face the challenges that life brings. I love the gospel. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I'm happy to be a "Mormon."

How I live my faith

I'm a Mormon everyday, not just on Sundays. Each day I pray with my children before sending them off to school. I pray and study the scriptures on my own for a few minutes each morning. Each evening we gather as a family to pray together and read and discuss from the scriptures together. We don't spend a long time, only a few minutes, but we try to be consistent. We have found that this increases the peace in our home and brings us closer together as a family. Once a week we have a "Family Night" where we spend time together as a family learning or playing or working together. I look forward to that time spent with my family. On Sundays we attend church meetings together. The lessons learned there reinforce the lessons we learn at home. I enjoy giving back to the community. I love to serve and be involved in helping others. I am a leader of a youth group for young women ages 12-18. I enjoy supporting and mentoring them to help them reach their personal potential. I love rejoicing with them in their successes and consoling during trials. I love my girls. It's a great lifestyle. We enjoy love, respect, and peace in our home (most of the time). It helps me be a better wife. A better mother. A better neighbor. A better friend. A better person.
