Hi I'm Ricardo

I'm a Mormon. I loved it.

About Me

I am a Filipino and migrated to the US since October 1985. I was converted in the Philippines on March 11, 1978. I was already a Mormon before I migrated to the US with my brother, Renato who lives now with his family in New Jersey. At present I am living in the State of Utah togetner with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I finished my Bachelors Degree on General Studies at University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines last 1975. A year later, I enrolled at Manila Central University and graduated with a Bachelors degree major in Chemistry in 1976. I enrolled at Manuel Luis Quezon University to further my studies on Chemistry in 1978. I said to myself while I finished my college and post college degrees and achieved 1 or 2 step up on my studies why not concentrate on finding the gospel about God as part of the learning process on this earhly life. One day, I borrowed a book from my Mormon neighbor and read the Doctrne and Covenants about the revelations of God to Joseph Smith and his ministries. I became interested and wrote a letter to Salt Lake City, the headquarters of the Mormon Church. After two weeks, 2 American missionaries came and intoduced me their religion. They taught me how to pray and asked the Lord directly if this church is true. I received an honest answer that this is the true church. I was baptized on March 11, 1978 and since then my testimony of this church and the gospel of Jesus Christ grow stronger.

How I live my faith

I am on uphill and downhill on my activities on the church. I considered myselfas semi- active but most of the time we go to church as a family. My faith grew back and forth but my faith on this church and Jesus Christ as its head never falters. I know that this life is difficult especially with the economy in the US and the battle between good and evil everyday. We have not been to the temple since we are not prepared yet but that is one of our goal as a family to be togetner again in the next life.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

We live an earthly life with our loved ones, having a father on earth, as well as a Father on Heaven. Similarly, they both love us and want us to grow with love and respect to each other. In case we need help and guidance, we both seek for theri advises since we know that both of them love us and care for our sucess in life. We shopuld seek for their help in case we need one and obey their commandments at all times. They provided us set of rules to follow so that we will not be in trouble. Our Heavenly Father provided us scriptures so that will be closer to Him and even sent His dear Son, Jesus Christ who is our brother in spirit to save us from sin because He love us so dearly. Scriptures are our connections to our Heavenly father whom we did not see but because of our faith we know that He really exist. We dont have to havefaith but only a perfect knowledge about our father here on earth because we see him everyday for our guidance and needs. Show more Show less
