Hi I'm Corey

I'm a rock and roller. I take life one day at a time and enjoy each one of them. I eat with chopsticks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to have fun and get the most I can out of life. I am a musician and playing music is where I get much of my fulfillment. I come from a big musical family; 10 kids playing 10 different musical instruments. All together we make up a fairly complete ward choir. I love working hard in whatever I'm doing, whether it's writing a song or working in the yard. Being able to see the finished product after working hard is one of the best feelings ever. I play guitar and sing in a band with buddies I went to high school with and we make it a goal to have a blast at every show we play. I love to "rock out" and listen to rock and roll classics, but in spite of my rock and roll roots my Gospel of Jesus Christ roots run deeper and guide the things that I do with my life. I am a child of God and Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because by being a Mormon I am happy. It is simply a fulfilling way to live life! By living the standards of the church I don't have to worry about things like hangovers and overdoses, addictions and failing livers, unhealthy relationships and unexpected pregnancies. All of these things seem to run rampant throughout the world, yet there is a measure of protection within the safe haven of the Gospel. This protection gives me confidence in being able to find success in the world. There are so many things that ruin success in the world that are eliminated through living the Gospel. Success in the world is only half of the equation, for success in the world means nothing when we fail spiritually. I love being a Mormon because I am learning how to be a better person not only for myself but for my future family. I am learning how to provide a safe environment to raise children and give them the best possible chance at winning this game we call life. I feel stronger as an individual the more I apply myself to being a Mormon. I am more confident in who I am and my ability to stand up in a world intent on bringing me down. I am able to become more and more like the Savior would have me be. Being a Mormon to me means being the best "me" that I can be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with others. I try to share the things I've come to love and know to be true with other by the example I set and the things I do. I guess you could say I try to live my faith by actually living my faith. By not being afraid to be different in today's world. In order to live the standards and teachings of the church today you have to be different from the "norm". Especially when it comes to the music. I live my faith in music by staying away from the dark, depressing, dull, and dirty elements much of the music in today's world contains. When writing a song I take into account what sort of example the song is setting and what is the influence the music and words is having on others. Certainly living my faith has an effect on every day life, but never once have I ever regretted it. I live my faith by living IN the world but not OF the world. I live my faith by asking myself, "what would Jesus do?"
