Hi I'm Tracy Nevins

Hi! My name is Tracy Nevins :) I am originally from Winter Park, Florida, but will soon be moving to Hurricane, WV. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My Name is Tracy Nevins, and I am from Winter Park, Florida. In less than 2 weeks, I will be relocating with my family to Hurricane, WV, to be closer to family, and to combat the high cost of living. I am married to a wonderful man named Gary, and together, we have NINE children. His, Mine, and ours!! lol...Most are grown and some are married. We have one son who is currently serving his country in the US Navy. I'm first and foremost a Daughter of Heavenly Father, then my other important titles are Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and friend :) I enjoy meeting new people and I love to Pen Pal all around the world. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for about 38 years now. My husband and I married in the beautiful Orlando Temple got time and all eternity in 1997. I t ean experience that forever changed my life. Knowing that My family always be together, in this life and the next, eases the sorrows and losses I have endured. I have some serious health issues, and I often lean on The Lord as my support. When I am feeling well...I love to sew, and have a small business. I also LOVE to scrap and SMASH book too....activities I can do while resting. I hope to become well enough to return to school, and finish my degree in History, and minor in anthropology. They are passions of mine, and I'd love to teach some day. I also love to do service work :) it gives me a lot of joy making others happy :)

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? It's pretty simple for me. I believe this is God's church here on earth..as it was in the days Christ walked the earth. It's also the feeling I get when I read the scriptures....the warm peace that overcomes me. The knowledge that families can be together forever is a REALLY wonderful feeling...since I have lost so many loved ones, including a precious newborn son. Knowing I'll hold him in my arms again gives me a sense of peace I can't put into words. I used to fear death..which is normal for everyone, I think. But having the Gospel in my life..I know that death is another phase in our eternal life. It not NOT THE END!! , With this knowledge, I can face my illness much better....and though I long to live a long and happy life....if heavenly father has other plans for me...I know with assurance that my family and I wouldn't be separated long....I'll have those grandchildren...and great grandchildren. This isn't just for the living, but God has made a way so even those who have gone on before us can receive the same blessings, through Temples. The Gospel has saved my life in many ways, and I am grateful I am able to pass this legacy on to my children...and hopefully they will pass it on to their children. The day when we are all together again really excited me!! It brings tremendous hope into my life...something I have not experienced before joining the church.

How I live my faith

Right now..my health has prevented me from being able to serve in the church on a large scale. however, I do write letters to other ladies once a month, and send them a spiritual message, and touch base with them, to see how they are doing. These are ladies who for whatever reason cannot make it out to church on a regular basis. It's important for everyone to feel loved and though of...specially those that may not be seen that often.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Tracy Nevins
The way I explain this to people is very, very simple. Picture a triangle. At the top of the Triangle, you have Jesus Christ. On the equal two bottom parts of the triangle, you have a man and a woman. If ANY of these components are missing...the whole triangle will collapse. Thus...it is like life....A man and a woman, with Jesus Christ make a foundation on which they can build a family on....but all THREE ARE NEEDED...Christ is the head of His church, but without a man and a woman working together....there is no foundation.
