Hi I'm Lucy King

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mum, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and Vice President of the King family. I grew up in the Middle East, and was blessed to have the opportunity to travel all over the world. When I was 14 I moved to the US to attend boarding school, then when I was 19 I moved to England. I love to travel and meet new people and see new things. My favorite traveling companions are my husband and kids, nothing educates you quite like your kids observations. I am the biggest Christmas freak ever!! I have 5 kids, and 1 husband and they are my pride and joy. It can be a struggle some days as we are currently doing high school, middle school, elementary school, pre-school and diapers, but wouldn't be as happy if it were any other way. My children bring so much happiness, excitement, enjoyment, and love to our home. My husband is not a member, but he supports me and the kids. He understands that the church is important to us and he respects that.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church and I was raised in the gospel. It can sometimes be hard being raised in the gospel and having to find your own testimony, I tripped over a few bumps in the road, but when each time I was picked up and put back together again by my Heavenly Father, I knew there was nowhere else I wanted to be. My family is my most precious possession and family the most important thing in the church. Through our faithfulness we can be an eternal family and spend eternity together, I personally can't think of anything better than that. My Heavenly Father blesses me everyday, he answers my prayers, often in the most amazing ways, he guides me and does everything he can to help me be the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and person that I can be. I know this is Heavenly Father's church, I know that he has a divine plan for each of us, I know that he loves me and cares for me, I know that my brother Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for me, I know this church to be true.

How I live my faith

For many years I served with the children in our ward. What a wonderful blessing it was to be given the opportunity to help nurture such young spirits. They are so pure and lovely and taught me so many wonderful lessons. It was hard work, but so rewarding. I now work with the scouting program within the church. I am currently the Wolves Den Leader for the Cubs and the Merit Badge Co-ordinator for the Boy Scouts. I love this program and love that the church is so involved with it. I have 4 sons, so being involved with an organization that teaches such strong values and teaches these young men to be better people is amazing. I never, never, never thought I would ever want to have anything to do with scouting, just goes to show how wrong you can be about things. I still don't do camping, though, that is what my husband is for!! Our family spends time together each night having family prayers and scripture study. It makes such a difference to our home to have that time to shut out the rest of the world and have some spiritual time together. I love to serve and am always grateful for an opportunity to spend time helping other people. Life becomes more meaningful when you spend it caring for others.
