Hi I'm Briana

I'm a missionary in Boston, MA, I love sign language, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Before my mission I was studying American sign language and deaf culture. I hope to someday be an interpreter and be able to work with the deaf community. I started learning sign in High school have studied it ever since.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents were Mormon, and growing up we always went to church, participated in church activities, and most importantly practiced what we learned from the scriptures and modern day prophets. My parents lead by example with love and support as to how we should live our lives. There was a special feeling that could be felt in our home and in church that I could not feel anywhere else. I flowed my parents example, but as I got older I realized I could not rely on their beliefs forever. I had to know myself if the church was truly lead by Jesus Christ. I had a desire to know the truth and I actively searched for it. I continued to attend church, asked questions frequently of my parents and leaders. But most importantly I had my heart open and was willing to follow through with the answer I received from my Heavenly father. I didn't get it all at once, it came in little bits. I started to pay attention to the feelings I was having when I attended church, read my scriptures, and prayed to God. Those things brought me such peace and comfort. I don't believe God is trying to trick us or be mysterious, I know he loves us and wants us to ask him questions. He cares about my feelings and ideas the way my own parents aren't only interested in my grades at school. I knew he would answer me and he most defiantly has. I am a Mormon because upon experimenting upon what I've learned I have found my self closer to God, filled with peace in times of trail, and pushed to be a better version of my self. I know this is where my Heavenly father wants me to be and that I can one day be with him and my family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by currently serving as a missionary. I have volunteered for 18 months to teach others about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. My purpose as a missionary is to bring others closer to Christ. Everyday i get up and study for 2 hours then spend the rest of the day teaching, visiting members, and finding those that wish to learn more. I am very thankful for this opportunity!
