Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Utah. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in Utah all of my life and I've loved every minute of it. I even go to college here in Utah and will probably remain here even after I get married one day. I've been involved in everything under the sun from sports to drama. As you can imagine being involved in so many extra curricular activities has provided me with ample opportunity to be an example of my beliefs since most of those on my teams or in my groups were not of the same beliefs nor did they live by my standards. I love all of them but because of our differences sometimes I had to take a stand. These opportunities helped me to realize the strength that I have, developing leadership skills and gaining the capacity to love those who may not live the way I do but are wonderful individuals.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, however, that does not mean that I am not a convert as well. I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel and church when I was 12 years old at a youth event for the young women in my ward. The bishop's wife was reading us a story called "Daughter of a King." As I listened I distinctly remember feeling someone giving me a hug. Why this stuck out to me was because I was sitting alone and apart from all the other girls and no one was near me, yet, I can not deny that hug and the over powering love I felt. I knew then at that tender age that principle of the story was true, that Heavenly Father knows me and wants me to return home to Him. I will never forget that experience because it is the experience that changed my life and solidified the start of my own testimony. Since then I have worked to continue to grow my testimony, attending church meetings and living my life by the teachings and guidelines provided by our church leaders. As I do I am able to withstand heartache, failure, and discouragement by holding on to my beliefs and the knowledge that I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father, a princess of our Heavenly King.

How I live my faith

I have held many callings that have allowed me to serve all ages. I've worked with the little children to teach them Sunday songs and then I have taught young adults Gospel lessons. These callings have helped me to get outside of my comfort zone and to teach others my understanding of the Gospel, growing my testimony.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

One of the greatest blessings in my life is knowing and feeling the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost as I live my life worthily. The Holy Ghost is what confirms to me the truths of the Gospel, lets me know that I am loved, helps me to choose right from wrong. He is my safe guard, comforter, and guide. And most importantly a way that my Father in Heaven can speak to me directly. Show more Show less
