Hi I'm Tanner

I'm a medical student. I speak fluent Cantonese. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a medical student and still unsure what area of medicine I will choose. I played college basketball and love sports. I've been married for three years. Before getting married I spent two years as a missionary in Hong Kong and Macau, China where I became fluent in Cantonese. I've run a marathon, been skydiving, and enjoy the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon and have had many spiritual experiences since I was young. There have been a number of times I've seriously considered if I should continue to be a member of the Church, including as a teenager, as a missionary, and in the past few years. Each time this has happened I've thought about it, studied about it, prayed about it, and felt good and peaceful. It makes sense to me and feels right, too. I'm a Mormon because it brings truth, happiness, peace, direction, and love into my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy a busy life with school, work, family, and fun. I try to bring my faith into each aspect of life by making time to visit friends, attending church, talking with friends about my beliefs, going to the Temple, and doing other service. When I allow my faith to influence my life, everything seems to work out and I feel my happiest. Of course, life is never a cake walk, but when I take time to study the scriptures and pray sincerely each day, I feel blessed with success in school, meaningful friendships, and an understanding of how to deal with the challenges of life.
