Hi I'm Ricardo

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in New Jersey.

About Me

My parents are from Mexico but i grew up in New Jersey. I lived there for 20 years before i decided to serve a full-time mission. I was the only Mormon in my high school, of 3,000 kids, for 3 years. I did fencing, tennis, i played trombone for 9 years, guitar for 4 years, and various other instruments for short periods of time. I was blessed with a mom that has enough faith to fly a 747.

Why I am a Mormon

Though i was raised a Mormon, i didn't quite fully know what that meant. i always knew that God existed. when all you know is of one thing, its kind of hard to appreciate it fully. but, one day a wake up call came that really made me think. i needed to know whether or not the life i was leading was worth while. it would have been rather easy to live a good life and have a good home and such. but, there would have been something greatly missing. i would have lead a peaceful life, but i would not have been able to have an Eternal Life. Heavenly Father, in his infinite wisdom and love, reached out with his hand and started to make changes in my life. many times it would have been all to easy to ignore them and go down the alternate path into a lifestyle that was no way in harmony with the true Plan of Happiness. but, a still small voice would come and tell me, 'its alright you can do it.' when i finally let Him tell me as to why he cared so much, i was able to see that all though i couldn't yet see the life He had for me, i had an assurance it would be there. it was like standing on the edge of a cliff and unable to see whats on the bottom or if there is even anything ahead. then, a voice comes and says, 'jump.' the first thought would be, 'are you crazy?!'. but it would come back and say, 'jump, its okay, I've got something better for you.' then, you take your chances and you jump and you find out you haven't died, and God has everything in control and is holding you up. I know that Heavenly Father lives. I know that He sent his Son Jesus Christ to died for us because he loves us. He has so much more for us than we can imagine. we can't fully see it all yet but its there waiting for us. God's church is once again on the Earth and the fullness of the Gospel can fully heal us.

How I live my faith

i am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We do believe the Bible as the word of God. It does contain the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We use the King James version. The Bible is very precious to me. it has taught me many things and whenever i need an answer to my prayers, i included it in my search for an answer. The Bible, when it was written, was inspired writings from holy prophets of God. But after time and many translations, many things where lost. simple truths that explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ became blurred. But, it is still a source of inspiration to many people as well as members of our church. with the Bible and the Book of Mormon we can increase our Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what all true scripture does. Show more Show less
