Hi I'm Maria

I'm a writer/blogger married to a Greek. We have 3 busy boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a writer and budding blogger. I graduated from college with a BA in English. I worked for two historians for several years as an editor. Now I am a full-time stay at home mother of three very busy boys. My husband is Greek and is the love of my life. We love to travel together and I write about it on my blog and other random things. If you want to learn more about me and my beliefs click on the blog link on the right of this page.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents both joined the LDS church before I was born. My dad was baptized when he was 16 by his best friend and my mom joined the church at 21 after dating a LDS boy in high school and learning about our faith through his family. Why do I believe in the teachings of the LDS church? Because I have studied the scriptures and then prayed and fasted whether or not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. My answer was, yes it is. I have a very strong testimony of The Book of Mormon and that it is indeed another testament that Jesus is the Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is today. Again, I know that because I have prayed about it. If you want to know more I encourage you to read The Book of Mormon and talk to the missionaries. This Church has blessed my life in so many ways. I feel peace and happiness everyday when I am living the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures, praying, going to church on Sundays, and attending the temple. I love teaching my primary class every week at church. They are six years old and so cute. They often teach me more about being a Christ like person than I could ever teach them. Every Monday night our family gets together for a gospel based lesson or games and a treat. It gives us, as parents, an opportunity to spend quality time with our children teaching them about their Savior, Jesus Christ. Many of the lessons we have our children take turns teaching. Some weeks we just play a game or go on an outing to the pool. It is an important day in our week.
