Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eighth of nine children. I served a full-time mission in Washington DC from April 2009 to April 2011. I married my best friend when she came back from her mission. I serve as President of the Young Men. I love to serve, visit the temple, go to camp, and read the scriptures. I'm a fan of movies and visit the cinema once a week with my wife. I love sports, dancing, music, and singing. I enjoy teaching classes on Sunday's to single adults and young men. I like the technology, iPhone, iPad, and surfing the web. I love to read and spend my days with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know in a very personal way that He knows me me and He answers my requests. It is one of the most beautiful feelings in this life, to feel the love of God. It's very different from the love we feel from others, because when we feel the love of God, we know that there is something beyond this mortal life. There is a power we can not see that is true and that although we can not explain with logic, we know it exists, and will exist forever. I received an answer from God that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was His true church. It's hard to explain, it is difficult to write now, but I know. I have no doubt that the answer did not come from something I saw, or heard, the answer came from God. And that's something I consider sacred. He answers, He lives, and He will tell us all truth. My invitation is to pray and get to know for yourself if this message is true. I promise you will receive an answer, and when you do receive an answer, take action, and share it with others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. From a young age my parents taught me the true meaning of faith in Jesus Christ, "to serve your neighbor." When I was young my father taught me that I should not "make" time to serve in the church but that I "make" time to do other things. Church service defines who I am, and what I like to do. From seminary when I was young, institute, visiting church members, and helping in service projects. Now as a leader of the youth from ages 12-18 years old, I enjoy spending my weekends helping them to develop qualities that will make them better children, men, parents and future leaders. Every week is a challenge, and there is always some sort of trouble, but the comfort that I have is that God knows what I need, and He knows my situation, and He knows how I can solve it. The challenge is to know His will, and Do it. There is nothing more valuable in life that brings more satisfaction, then to do the will of our Heavenly Father. It is not always easy, and sometimes difficult, but if we trust in Him, everything will be fine. I live my life like that, because I know that He lives.
