Hi I'm Chelsea

I grew up in a small town in California. I am a senior in college studying Public Health. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Chelsea and I am 22 years old. I am finishing up my studies in college and hope to graduate with a degree in Public Health within the next year. I just recently got engaged and am excited to learn what married life has in store for me. I love learning new things and have recently decided to learn how to cook. It's been an adventure and there has only been one near fire, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I love sunshine, laughing, and spending time with family and friends, they do so much for me. All in all I'm just an average California girl, living my life day by day, and doing my best to make decisions based on what I know to be right.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the covenant which means that my parents were already members when i was born. I grew up in the church and from a young age learned all about the Savior and his teachings. When I was 8 I was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and became in essence, a Mormon. As I've learned and grown in my knowledge of the gospel, I've had the opportunity to come to know my Heavenly Father and the love he has for me. I've also had the chance to gain a testimony of the gospel, and would now like to take a minute to share with you what I know to be true. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, restored to the earth in these latter days. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and due to his faithfulness he was able to restore the church and translate the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true record of the Savior and his dealings in the Americas. It contains many gospel principles that are crucial to our learning on this earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the current living prophet, who holds all the keys of the priesthood. He is in direct communication with God and teaches us what our Father in heaven wants us to hear. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and as a result sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to atone for my sins. He made it possible for me to repent of my transgressions so that I can one day return to live with my Heavenly Father. I know these things to be true and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I attend my church meetings on Sunday, along with any other meetings throughout the week. I participate in family home evening where I am able to learn about spiritual topics and spend time with those of my same belief. I attend the temple on a regular basis and am able to do baptisms for those who were unable to receive those covenants while they were on this earth. Finally, and possibly most importantly, I study my scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father daily. I find that by doing this, I am able to stay close to my Father in Heaven and am better able to choose the right on a daily basis.
