Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a Police Officer, Father, Husband, Son, and a Mormon.

About Me

I like to have fun! I am very personable and love to meet new people. I work in Law Enforcement and have had a lot of cool experiences in my life, including working in a prison. I love music; anything upbeat and clean is perfect for me. I love to drive cars, anything fast and loud! Personally I would love to own a Cobra Mustang! You will find me on the basketball court whenever I have free time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how I feel when I pray. I did not understand the church when I was younger. It was just another thing to me. I was baptized when I was eight years old, but did not grow up in an LDS home. My friends were LDS and they went to church. I only went to play basketball. It wasn't until I had to deal with real life that I found out... LIFE IS HARD! The things you have to deal with are difficult. Divorce, Death, Pain, Abuse, Addiction, Stress, etc... There is so much out there. Having the ability to talk to someone is essential. Our Father in Heaven is there. I am a Mormon because even if I do mess up. I know I have a Savior that will stand by my side and be an advocate with the Father. He suffered for me. He was perfect, yet he was persecuted, abused, and cucified. He decended below us all. All so that I could be forgiven for the mistakes I make, and return to live with my Father in Heaven. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a personal church. Our God is a personal God. He knows each one of us personally. I know I would be lost without the knowledge being a member of Gods church has given me.

How I live my faith

I loved serving in the Young Men's organization. I can't say enough about the youth. They are definitely a blessing in my life. If I could say one thing to all parents it would be to make sure they get their sons into Scouts! The Boy Scouts of America is an organization that turns boys into men (it also turns stiff grown men back into boys sometimes!). It will teach boys the intangible things you can only learn by spending the night in a tent when its -15 degrees outside. How to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. Oh, and don't forget Hungry! I live my faith by following our prophet. I know he speaks with the voice of God. He is an honest, trustworthy, and prophetic man.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I know there is a God. I have this truth revealed to me on a daily basis. When I return from a physically and mentally taxing job and have my two little boys run to hug me and tell me about their day. When I get to see my beautiful wife and share the hardships of life with her. It reassures me that God loves me and has surrounded me with those things He knows I love. When I have problems that overwhelm me and I get lost in the struggle of life. I know that God is there to hear my pleas. He hears my every aspiration, every struggle, and every success. When I make mistakes in this life, I know I can go to Him. He will hear my apology and forgive me. This is possible because of Jesus Christ's atonement. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Being a Mormon is simple. Live life the best you can. Give 100% at everything you do. Love your neighbors, even if they may do or say something that hurts you or that you don't agree with. Be respectful to your elders, family, and especially those with special needs or circumstances. Abide by the laws of the land. Participate in your local government. Do all that you can do and be someone people look up to. Some people think the things Mormons do are odd. Such as shoveling their neighbor's driveways and sidewalks, smiling and waving every time they see you, or when they come by every month just to see how your life is going and if they can help at all. We do these things because we love our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. This kind of stuff is exactly what they would do it they were here. Since they aren't, we do it for them. We love you just as they do. Show more Show less
