Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into a loving family in which I had the opportunity to be taught the gospel of Jesus Christ my whole growing up years. I married a wonderful man who is an amazing husband and father. We now have 2 little boys, a house and are just living life. It is great! I am trying to get my education one class at a time, and I enjoy being a mother. I like to do crafts and artsy things, I also like to play sports when I get a chance. I am not very good at sports or athletically inclined, but I love playing and having fun anyway! I also like to be around other people, and enjoying their company.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is a book from God, translated through Joseph Smith, and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth. It was resotred through Joseph Smith. President Monson is the Lord's called leader of His church in these latter days. When I was a young teenager I read a scrilpture that changed my outlook on the gospel and the rules we live by. The scripture was in Doctrine and Covenants 103:27 "Let no man be afraid to lay down his life for my sake; for whoso layeth down his life for my sake shall find it again." I had a testimony before that this church was the fullness of the gospel but at times I felt that i was missing out on things when I chose to follow the standards and rules of the church. After reading this scripture I realized that i was not giving up anything to live that gospel because everything I give up for the gospel will be made up in the end. Since then i have tried to live the gospel the best I can. Now I am so glad that I made that choice, I would be in darkness otherwise. I now have a firm testimony of the gospel and the commandments Heavenly Father has given us to live by.

How I live my faith

In my church I teach the Young Women on Sundays (young women are the girls from 12-18years). I love this calling and often find that the lessons I give to the girls are most applicable to my life. I am also a member of the women's organization in our church and am called to visit 4 ladies each month ,with another lady as my companion.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Jessica
Living as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brigns a joy and happiness into my life that could come in no other way. There is a lot expected of us, with regards to fulfilling callings at church, living the standards, doing service, missionary work, personal/family prayer and scripture study etc. However, I know that the Lord has asked me to do these things and when I turn to Him for help He is there for me. Through doing the things He asks us, we can have joy. It is not a burden to do good things, it is a challenge at times, but it is not a burden, it lifts me higher and helps me come to know my Heavenly Father and His plan for me. Show more Show less
