Hi I'm Brett.

I'm a programmer. I'm a thinker. I'm a stargazer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father, and a student in graduate school. I am a physicist and an astronomer. I like making chain armor and painting miniatures. I love to develop games of all kinds: board, dice, card and computer. I like reading fantasy/sci-fi books.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith in Jesus Christ has been a strength to me in good times and helps me get through tough times. The peace that I feel for living the gospel each day is the greatest blessing I have in my life. The scriptures have taught me to trust in the Lord rather than in myself; His power can overcome all if I come unto Him. I learned a long time ago that the Spirit fills my life as deeply as I am willing to give my attention to the scriptures. Every morning I spend time reading the scriptures and praying to know God's will so I can have His guidance. I have learned to feel and follow the quiet, but real, whispering of the Spirit. It has lead me to the greatest happiness in day to day living and in long term goals like treating my family with kindness and what to study in school.

How I live my faith

Some of my favorite callings at church have been those where I get to teach others gospel truths. I have taught the youth and small children as well as adults. I also enjoy leadership positions where I can voice my opinion. I feel so happy when I ask for the Lord's help and blessings to be with my class members or in my lessons and then I see those prayers answered the week in church. I live my faith by speaking kindly to others and treating every person I meet with respect. I like seeing how people react when I am kind to them. Sometimes they are surprised like they don't expect it. And I love to see people smile when they talk to me.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Brett.
Eternal life means that our families can live together forever in the presence of God. It is made possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on our behalf. In order for it to have a real and lasting effect on us, we need to keep the commandments. Show more Show less
