Hi I'm Olivia

I love to smile, sew, sing, dance, act, and just live life in general! I'm a freshman in college and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 6 kids. I like to learn new things. I make the most of what I have. I have the most amazing family and friends, and all though that may sound perfect, it's not. I'm a normal person, just like you.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is no way to deny this gospel! Everything about it is right. The feeling you get when you read the scriptures or attend church is so warm and so relevent that you can't help but know that the gospel is TRUE! Every day I strive to live the gospel because I know it's right. It's the only thing that can bring us true happiness in life! You can't help but smile and feel good when you take part of it! Nothing else matters as long as you have the gospel because you know no matter what happens, Heavenly Father has a plan for us, and he cares about us, and he doesn't want us unhappy. He's watching over us and he will NEVER give us more than we can handle. He gives us trials to become stronger. We will never live a perfect life, but through Christ we can become perfect. Christ died for us so that through him we might be saved. The atonement is real. It is the only way that we can become whole and spotless at that last day and return to our Savior and Father in Heaven and live with the forever. The Book of Mormon is true. I know it with all of my heart. You can't read that book without KNOWING that this gospel is true, and it's the only way we can get back. I know that families are forever. And that through temple ordinances, we can be sealed to our families, and eternal sweethearts, for all time and eternity. I KNOW that temples are places on earth where the Lord can come and dwell with us and give us comfort and strength. I know he hears and answers our prayers. He will never leave us alone. He hears us. I know that Heavenly Fathers plan is the only plan that matters, and if we live righteously, we will receive eternal life. I know these things are true, I know it with all of my heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I strive to read my scriptures every night. I strive to pray first thing when I get up and last thing before I go to bed. I strive to attend the temple once a week so that I can feel the spirit and receive revelation and feel a closeness to our Savior and Father in Heaven. I strive to get my visiting teaching done once a month and to help those in need. But most of all, the thing that I try to NEVER mess up on is to just be happy! If you're living the gospel, you'll be happy. And if you're happy, the people around will also be happy and they will see the light of Christ shine through your eyes and into their hearts.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Olivia
We go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament and renew our baptismal covenants. It's 3 hours long and an important part of keeping the Sabbath day holy. We go to feel of the spirit and gain spirtual knowledge. We learn from the scriptures, the teachings of the prophets, and from each other. The temple is an even more sacred place where sacred ordinances are performed. Before you enter however, you must go through a worthiness interview in order to obtain a recommend that allows you to enter into the house of the Lord. Here people are married and sealed for time and all eternity! That can only be done in the temple. We also do work for those that were not able to do it themselves. The scriptures say that no unclean thing can enter into the kingdom of God, so work is done for those that are dead that were never baptized or never had the oppurtuity to hear the gospel.
