Hi I'm Amber

I'm a life enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Amber. I am 24 years old. I was born in Fort Worth, TX and after living there for about 7 years my family and I moved to Utah. We have been here ever since. My family is amazing and I love them so much. I returned home from an LDS mission in Raleigh, North Carolina about a year and a half ago. This was one of the best experiences I have had. I reflect on the joy the gospel brought to the people we taught, and to myself. There is nothing that compares to that joy. I was recently married in the Brigham City Temple to my best friend and now eternal companion. The temple is a wonderful place to be and I'm thankful for the peace that flows from the temple and for the ordinances that are available there. I am also a college student. I am studying dental hygiene and will be finished next year! I look forward to having a family in the future and serving others through my chosen profession.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church. However, that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ and prayerfully considered it's words. I now know that it is in fact, Another Testament of Jesus Christ and it is given to us to help us through our individual lives. My testimony of the Book of Mormon did not bloom over night. It has been a constant process. Kind of like growing a plant. I have always felt that there was something good about the Book of Mormon and the church, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. As I have read the Book of Mormon throughout my life and followed the commandments, those feelings have become what I firmly believe and what I now know to be true. One aspect of the gospel that I have grown to love very much is the concept of the Plan of Salvation, which is God's plan for us to return and live with Him, His Son, Jesus Christ, and with our families. It is such a blessing to have this knowledge. To know that when hard times come (and they will at some point or another) that we can find comfort in knowing God has a plan for us and that we can be united with those that we love again. I know without any doubt that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that because of His infinite sacrifice, we are given the opportunity to live with our families again and that when we feel alone and abandoned, we are not. He is always there for you. I know that God knows each of us individually and that He is mindful of our circumstances. I know that this gospel changes lives. I have seen it in my own life and in the lives of others. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The Savior provided us with many examples of how we should live our lives. One such example is giving service to others. Giving service to others and helping those who are in need is one way I have been able to more fully live what I believe. I believe there is a quote somewhere out there that says something along the lines of "actions speak louder than words." Being able to do simple acts of service for others and brightening their day is how I choose and strive to live my faith everyday. There is something amazing that happens when we step out of our normal routine and help someone else. In the Book of Mormon there is a scripture that says, "...when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only is the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17, pg 148) I know that when we serve others we are serving God and that as we serve those around us, God blesses us and we are able to draw nearer to God and to our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Living my faith is more than just saying that "I'm a Mormon." There is a lot that hinges on that short statement. God has given us commandments. These commandments are given to us for our benefit to help us stay on the strait and narrow path. Each of these commandments plays a huge role in how I live my faith. I know God pours out blessings as we keep His commandments and it is how I live my faith.
