Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon and a good grandpa!

About Me

I am a safety engineer. I served a mission in Sydney Australia from 1978 to 1980. I have two natural children, two adopted children, and several foster children and teenagers who lived with us that call me Dad. I also have a foreign exchange student from South Korea who considers us her American parents. I have a couple of biological grandchildren and a host of other children who call me grandpa.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were nearly all converted to the church in Europe during the 1800's. My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were members of the church. However, all people, whether born in the church or not, have to gain a testimony of their own. With me, my testimony grew with experience slowly, piece by piece until I could not deny the truth of this gospel more than I could deny that my arm exists.

How I live my faith

I grew up obeying the basic commandments of the gospel. I attended church, did not swear drink, smoke or do other things we were taught to do. Of course, I was no perfect, but I lived the basic principles of the gospel, which made me successful in life and set me up for a happy marriage. I am currently a counselor to the Bishop in my ward, where I assist him in making sure the members of the congregation are taken care of.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormonism is true Christianity. It is the actual gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth. The nickname Mormon refers to a prophet who lived in America and taught of Christ about 400 AD. The Book of Mormon is named after him and is a book of scripture that shows that God did not only speak to prophets in the Middle East, but to other people and cultures as well. The Book of Mormon goes hand in hand with the Bible, testifying of Christ and his role as Savior and Redeemer. Show more Show less
