Hi I'm Melody

I grew up in SoCal, attended school as a Music Major. I enjoy the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it improves my life.

About Me

I've always had a love for horses and have worked around them since I was 5 years old. My name fits due to the musical family I was born into. I sing and play the clarinet classically, learning how to play jazz. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience college offered. At age 21 I served an LDS mission for 18 months. I am now a very happy momma to 3 young kids. In high school my schedule was filled with band, orchestra, choir, drama, german classes, cross country, and track. I've an adventurous spirit...body surfing, jumping fences on horses and hiking. I currently teach clarinet and voice in my music studio, giving students confidence and a love for music. Building my home business and Card making business give me the time freedom I desire, allowing me to spend time with the most precious treasures I have on this earth, my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, or a Latter-day Saint of Christ because it makes me so happy. It gives me education each Sunday and reminds me where I came from, who I am, and where I'm going.

How I live my faith

I'm often found making treats or meals in my home then giving them to my neighbors or those sick in my city. I feel such fulfillment in helping others, especially since I'm at home with my kids. Getting out to visit and serve others, lending a listening ear has been wonderful. I find I'm the happiest when I'm serving, following Christ's example. My mother always got me out of a rut by getting me to serve with her in the community. As a moody teenager, this worked miracles in my life. I currently lead music in my Church for children ages 3-11. This is a precious talent I'm so glad I've developed over my life. These children are so great at singing! The parents have come to me saying their child is singing away at home, these comments make my heart SOAR! I visit with other women who have hectic lives with their families, so sitting down with them once or twice a month helps me and them connect, relax, and learn as we talk about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it's affected our lives. I teach my kids that they have a destiny, their life is eternal, they'll see Great Grandpa again, and we sing and pray in our home. When my kids bite or kick or pull hair....I see them calm down and hug saying, "I'm sorry". Lots of effort, but now it's great seeing these regular occurrences. My husband is my best friend. We go on dates weekly. We set a time aside to talk about our money issues and what went on during the week. So much better having these conversations, rather than arguments in front of the kids. Reading Scriptures has given our home a loving spirit.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stays neutral on endorsing political parties. Many members come from all walks of life, are all different races and come from both political parties. It is each persons choice as to which party they choose to be affiliated with. Having this freedom of choice is very valuable and relaxing. Having a non-judgemental attitude is a big part of Christ's Gospel, and it applies here. Show more Show less
