Hi I'm Kevin

I built a racecar. My native name is me-sin-ski.

About Me

I love things that are fast and fun and my dream is to be like Iron Man. As an engineering student I get to do a lot of exciting projects. So far engineering has taken me to work at a yogurt factory, an accident reconstruction company and to build a racecar. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent some time in Southeast Asia as a kid. Traveling gave me a great appreciation for so many wonderful people, cultures and places. However when I can't be on a tropical beach I am plenty happy in the beautiful green trees of Oregon. I love to ride my bike through the orchards, fields and forests. For a few years I got my thrill out of bicycle racing but now enjoy a mix of cycling, running, hiking and watersports. As the brother to three sisters I am a pretty lucky guy. We are a pretty close group despite our varying interests (a pharmacist, a childhood development major and an aspiring optometrist). Mostly we like teasing each other and enjoy anything that has to do with sports and eating when we are together. One of the things that has helped us stay close is a little FFF. We call it forced family fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I like many Mormons grew up in a Mormon family and loved it. I learned the stories found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. They seemed to fit well with me. However I wanted to know for myself so I studied it out and worked to find my answer. Reading the Book of Mormon played a key role. I prayed to know of the truthfulness of this Book. When I cam to feel my answer it helped me understand that there is a prophet on the earth today and that God continues to do his work on the earth through an organized means, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The teachings of the church and the opportunity to continue learning continue to change me into a better person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time, its simply a part of me. My faith is what keeps the smile on my face and I find myself smiling the most when I am helping others. Lately I have enjoyed helping others whenever I can. A simple meal, a helping hand, a couple hours of tutoring here and there are some of my favorite ways to assist others. I love taking a few minutes out of my day and seeing if there is a way I can cheer someone else up through a spontaneous phone call, visit or thoughtful note. I believe we are children of God and it is our privelage to look out for and love one another. Brightening someone's day through helping them do their work, or lifting their emotional burdens and helping them understand how wonderful they are is an important part of being a Christian.
