Hi I'm Gary

I was a pole vaulter in college. I enjoy running. I'm a real estate developer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Maryland with my wife and four wonderful children. I ran my first marathon last year. I am a college football fan, I enjoy playing with my kids and going on dates with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this faith, but I had to gain my own testimony. When I was a teenager, I wanted to know for myself whether the Book of Mormon was the word of God. I had been told that if I would sincerely read and pray about it, the Spirit of God would let me know that it was His word. I decided to follow that plan. My testimony of the Book of Mormon didn't come immediately. But after several weeks of consistently reading and praying about the book, I had an unforgettable experience. I was kneeling by my bedside in prayer after reading the Book of Mormon, like I had for several weeks, when I asked God to have the Holy Ghost confirm for me if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt the most incredible warm and uplifting sensation throughout my entire body. I have had countless experiences with the Holy Ghost since that time. It is through studying and applying the principles in the Book of Mormon and the Bible that I have learned for myself that both of those books contain God's word and are important for me to read and ponder.

How I live my faith

I help the Missionaries who are serving in our congregation teach others about our church. I attend teaching appointments with them and help arrange additional teaching appointments. This is my specific assignment in our congregation, but the most important part of living my faith is with my family, friends, neighbors, and interactions with others. I try to help those that are in need and build unity in my neighborhood.
