Hi I'm Kyle

I'm from Georgia. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Georgia where I grew up with my mom, dad, and two brothers. I completed grades K-12 in the same town and lived in the same home my whole life. I ran cross country and track in High School which is where I developed my passion for running. After high school I went to college where I studied in the field of biology for one year. Also at college I competed on a NCAA div.2 cross country and track team. For employment I have worked at a Nike factory outlet store, as a paralegal, and in the construction industry. I served a two year mission for the LDS church in Brisbane, Australia from 2009-2011. I generally enjoy all outdoor activities especially running and cycling. One of my other hobbies is flying airplanes. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. Currently I plan on returning to college to complete a degree in Nursing.

Why I am a Mormon

My religious beliefs go to the core of who I am. Like a lot of other people I grew up in the Mormon church. There came a point though where It was either that way or my way. I took the time to read The Book of Mormon-Another testament of Jesus Christ. Reading that book accompanied by my sincere and earnest prayer to know of its truthfulness has forever changed my life. As I continue to study the word of God I consistently feel a reassurance from God that this is where I need to be. The witness I gained of the divinity of Jesus Christ, The Book of Mormon, and a living prophet gives me the motive to follow Christ and his restored gospel.

How I live my faith

My faith motivates me to act! Daily I strive to read from the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and other uplifting books as well as pray. This gives me the motive to make it through the day. I like most people always seem to have some challenge in my path. As soon as I conquer one then another comes. However because of my faith in Jesus Christ I can face my challenges with optimism and courage. I know if I put the Lord first, do the things he asks of me, work hard, and trust him everything will be okay. I try to emulate Jesus Christ's life especially by helping and serving those around me. By living the teachings of Jesus Christ I have come to truly be happy. I'm not perfect and I make mistakes, but I have faith that through Jesus Christ I can become a better person.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes! I love the Bible and it is God's word. The Bible provides many teachings, but most importantly a testimony and account of the life of Jesus Christ. It illustrates how we can follow Christ's example by showing us his life. Many people have the misconception that Mormons do not believe in the Bible or that Mormons use The Book of Mormon instead of the Bible. This however is false. The Bible is scripture and the LDS (Mormon) church upholds it. In addition to the Bible we also use The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is simply an account of a group of people who lived roughly at the same time as those in the Bible. However rather than living in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas these people lived in the North and South American continent. The people in The Book of Mormon like the people in the Bible had prophets who taught them the word of God and prophesied of the coming of Christ. The Book of Mormon also shares an account of Christ visiting the Americas following his death and resurrection in Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon accompanies the Bible and they both set in stone the validity and necessity of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. Show more Show less
