Hi I'm Shelly

I live in Colorado and am a Mom of four boys. I like to spend time with my family out-of-doors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay home Mom raising four boys. I love to spend time with my family camping and fishing. We attend many sporting events together including football and basketball games that my sons play in. I love to read, cook, and run.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe that Joseph Smith actually saw God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ. He was courageous bringing this message to the world. I believe that The Book of Mormon is holy scripture that teaches me eternal truths every day as I read. I have been a member of this church since I was a young girl, and I know that I have been blessed because I choose to follow the gospel precepts. I am happy and know that this happiness is true happiness that only my Savior can grant.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. As a family we read from our scriptures and have family prayer every day. My third son is serving a full-time mission in Fukuoka Japan. My two older sons have also served full-time missions. I serve in our Women's organization and love to spend time with the Sisters in our ward. We do fun things like make chocolate, learn aerobic dance, and put together hygiene kits for children in Nepal. This faith is really a life-changing opportunity to help us grow closer to Jesus Christ.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Shelly
A successful marriage requires faith—both in God and faith in each other. Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on our belief in Him. It is a principle of action. Shared faith in God can bind married couples and families together in a commitment to common values. It can lend them strength to overcome obstacles that might otherwise damage these important relationships. In successful marriages, couples trust each other. And they strive to prove worthy of their spouse’s trust. Any strong marital or family relationship must be based on mutual trust and trustworthiness. Faith in each other, like faith in God, can help couples and families face uncertainty and live up to high Show more Show less
