Hi I'm Alice

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have owned a printing business for over 25 years. We have been married for 44 years and have 8 children and 16 grandchildren who live all over the USA. Because we are so spread out, the highlight of our year is our annual family vacation when we spend a week together, usually at the beach. This summer it will be our 22nd counsecutive year. We recently started a new tradition of coming together with all our children when one of them celebrates their 40th birthday. I love to read. Probably because I was an English major in college I like reading different things - non fiction and fiction, and I like sewing especially for my children and grandchildren. I like running even though I am a slow runner, and started running when I was in my 50's I am a 6th generation Mormon. All of my 16 great great grandparents joined the church in Europe and came to Utah after their conversion, so I have a great heritage of faith.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church I have continued to be a member because I have come to know that what the gospel teaches is true. I believe that a church must have priesthood authority to perform baptisms and other ordinances and I believe that this authority was restored through the prophet, Joseph Smith. I am a much better person than I would be without the gospel. I have been very blessed through striving to live the commandments of Christ. The grace of God has lighted my life through dark times, for which I am very grateful.

How I live my faith

Because we have a lay clergy and no paid ministry the members of our church are very involved even though we have work and family responsibilities. I have been given wonderful opportunities to serve and grow that have taken me way out of my comfort zone. I am most comfortable supporting others but I've been given many responsibilities where I lead and speak before congregations. I am not comfortable doing this but I see how it helps me to grow and causes me to turn to the Savior for His help and support.
