Hi I'm Louis

I'm from Kaysville Utah, i love to woodwork, I'm a missionary, and of course i'm a mormon!!

About Me

I love to woodwork, snowboard, unicycle, and spend time with my family. I am now serving a mission for the Lord in the Oregon, Eugene Mission. Now my passions are inviting people to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel by being Baptized into this church. On my mission so far i've learned so many things that i know will help me become a better husband, father, son and brother. I know that what we share with people is true and will help us have a better relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon and went to Church growing up like every good Mormon boy. I always relied on the testimony of my parents. There came a point where i had to break off of my parent's knowledge and learn myself whether the Church i had been attending for years was true, and if it is the path God wanted ME to take. When the prophet of the Church at the time President Gordon B. Hinkley challenged us all to read the Book Of Mormon by the year 2006, i decided i would take the challenge seriously. I figured that the Book Of Mormon was either true, or it was not. I read the Book Of Mormon and did what a prophet named Moroni asks us to do in Moroni 10, verses 3-5 on page 529, the very end of the Book of Mormon, to find out if it is true. The spirit told me of the truthfulness of the Book Of Mormon, and i cant deny how i feel every time i read from it. I now know that it is the word of God. It doesn't add to or take away from the Bible, but rather is another testimony that Jesus Christ lived, and loves us. There is nothing i'd rather do than share this with everyone i can. Although life is full of challenges, i know that God loves us, and is wanting to help us through it. If we keep the commandments, and live worthy of his help, he will be with us constantly to help us. Now that i know it is true, i am not exempt from challenges at all, but i feel like i am more prepared to face them. What a blessing!!!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church. Our purpose as missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the Gospel of Jesus Christ by having faith in Jesus Christ, repenting of their sins, being baptized, recieving the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. I live my faith by constantly striving to find people to teach, and helping to bring people to Christ. Being a missionary is amazing! There is nothing like feeling the spirit all the time. Being a missionary is like basic training for life. This is preparing me for who i will become forever.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Louis
We will teach you about Jesus Christ and how you can come closer to him through reading the scriptures, going to church, and praying to find answers to your questions. Don't believe what we say, rather take what you learn from us and ask God if what we teach is true. He needs to be the one we recieve our answers from. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Louis
I like to think of the priesthood authority as 'permission' from Heavenly Father to do certain things like baptize people, and administer the sacriment. It is important for Jesus Christ's church to be set up with the authority to perform baptism, otherwise it would be like an ice cream man trying to give me a speeding ticket. The ice cream man doesn't have authority to give me a ticket. my favorite scripture in the bible that explains this is in Hebrews 5:4 which says "And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron." Things like the priesthood being restored just makes sense to me. When Christ was here during his earthly ministry, he gave his apostles the priesthood, and since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, OF COURSE he would give his servants now the authority to act in his name. It just makes sense! Show more Show less
