Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a wife, a sports mom, a reader and a wannabe crafter. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm crazy in love with the man I've been married to for almost 15 years now. I'm a mom to 3 wonderful kids, and next to my own home, my favorite place is in the bleachers cheering them on. We have a multi-cultural family and are blessed with lots of opportunities to see and experience different parts of the world. I love to travel, am fascinated with the little things in life, and can't wait to see what the future holds.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I was born and raised in this faith, and took it very much for granted for a large part of my life. But there came a time when I was faced with this question and really had to decide for myself if it was what I truly believed. As I pondered and wondered and prayed, I had an overwhelming feeling that my Heavenly Father loved me and knew exactly who I was and what I was feeling. I knew without a doubt that I was in the right place and had all the tools I needed to live a happy life. And being a Mormon gave me all those tools. I guess what it really comes down to is that I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

Living my faith doesn't always come easy for me. The stresses of everyday life tend to dampen the spiritual, and I find myself just going through the motions. But I try to be the best person I can, to live a life that my Savior would approve of, and to find joy in the little things in life. Right now I am working with the young children at church. Their sweet innocence (and sometimes very funny comments) bring me back to the basics of the Gospel and Christ's teachings time and time again. Have you ever watched the way kids interact with each other? There is such a simple beauty in it. I sometimes wish I could go back to the days when my self-doubt didn't get in the way of doing a good deed for someone.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are your neighbors. We're your coworkers. We're your bus drivers. We're the soccer mom in the crowd, the professional basketball team owner, the family across the street. We celebrate life and family and we celebrate birthdays and holidays, too. We're normal, real people who worship a loving Heavenly Father and believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. Yes, we are Christians! We don't claim to be perfect, but we do try to live the best lives we can. Show more Show less
