Hi I'm Kaitlyn

I'm a fan of Latin and Greek texts, a convert, a wife. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love working with Classical texts and sharing my knowledge with others - in fact, I read the original texts for fun and am working on a collection of modern books translated into Latin or Greek. I swam on my college team for four years and if I had my way, would have a pool large enough to swim laps. I enjoy cooking, especially trying out new recipes. I also like to do crochet and make things for my friends and family often. My husband is working on his PhD in toxicology while I am a stay at home mom to our first born. Being a new parent is stressful but I love the support I get at church. We've been married for several years and we have known each other, and been friends, since middle school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Roman Catholic as a child and attended through my Confirmation. Afterwards, my family stopped attending any church. I met my husband in middle school and we dated in high school. His family introduced me to the church and while on his mission, my husband sent me a quad combination (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price to read). I read, I prayed, and decided this was the religion for me. Once my husband returned home from his mission, I took the lessons from the missionaries and was baptized. My husband baptized me himself! It was a beautiful moment, second only to being sealed to my husband two years later. I love being a member of this church. I have learned so much about myself. My life is better with the gospel in it and I have met wonderful people through the church.

How I live my faith

I attend meetings every Sunday with my husband. The music during Sacrament meeting is always beautiful and inspiring. In addition, I get to visit sisters once a month for my visiting teaching while another pair of sisters visit me! It's a wonderful way to meet other church members and to serve.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Kaitlyn
Yes! My husband and I were sealed in a temple which means we are together for "time and eternity" instead of "until death do you part". We believe in priesthood authority, given from Heavenly Father, which allows for certain church members to have power to seal people together while on Earth. I am humbled and thrilled to know that my husband and I will be together forever as long as we are faithful and true to our covenants. Show more Show less
