Hi I'm Joakim

I am from Sweden and am currently attending BYU-Idaho

About Me

Iam from Sweden. Iam from Stockholm and grew up there. I love to play guitar be with my friends. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a mormon. My parents are converts to the church. But I've chosen to live this faith because I have found out for myself that this church is true and has brought me closer to Jesus Christ. I have a lot of friends that are mormons that helps me stay on the path. I have read the Book of Mormon and tried to live as God wants me to live. In the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5 it says that anyone who asks God if the book is true or not will receive an answer from the Holy Ghost. I read the book and knelt and prayed and I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. And because I received that knowledge I also know that we have a living prophet today who can tell us what God wants to say to us today. Think about it! If a man like Moses was here today wouldn't we want to know what he had to say?

How I live my faith

I try to apply all the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ into my daily life. I do this by trying my hardest not to do things which would be contrary to the will of God and by trying to do that which would be his will. Sometimes I mess up and need God to help me get back on the path. It really is possible through his atonement and the mercy it provides. No matter how lost we think we might be, he will always have his arm stretched out towards us and be ready to pull us up again. When I am on the right path and feel like I am doing the right thing Christ still helps me become better. He isn't content until I am perfected. Through his grace we can grow from being good to become even better. That is a continuing process that can continue throughout our whole lives and in the eternities. We believe that we can become like Christ and have the attributes he has. It requires a change of our natures that is only possible through the grace of God. I know that I have been changed over time to become a better person. I know as I continue, that Christ will continually change my nature until I am his.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mormons doesn't worship Joseph Smith. We worship God and Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God. In the old testament there were prophets like Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Isaiah... People didn't worship these people, they listened to them because they were called by God to declare the message that he had to the people. (Amos 3:7) says "Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." So God is using prophets to be his mouthpiece. So Do we worship Joseph Smith? No! Do we accept him as a prophet called by God? Yes! Would we listen to what God would tell us through Joseph Smith? Yes! How can we find out if Joseph Smith is really a prophet called by God? Jesus Christ warned us from false prophets. He told us how we can recognise if they are true or false. He said "by their fruits ye shall know them". The fruits of Joseph Smith is The Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith translated The Book of Mormon by the power of God. By reading, pondering and praying if the Book of Mormon is true we can know wether Joseph Smith was a true prophet or not. I can testify that I know that he was called by God because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and I encourage you to try to do the same thing if you haven't done that yet.
