Hi I'm Troy

I'm Canadian. I'm a Financial Planner. I love the NBA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a beautiful wife of seven years, and a gorgeous 5 year old daughter. I LOVE playing and watching basketball. I also love to sing...solos, duets, quartets, choirs, anything.... I enjoy playing the guitar although I don't play often enough. I graduated university with a degree in finance and now I'm a Financial Planner.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is nothing new to my family...I am a seventh generation Mormon. Everyone, including me, at some point in their life wonders who they are, what they believe, and what their purpose is. As I pondered those things, I quickly realized that the answers that I had been taught all my life were true because I felt calm and peaceful as I considered them. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings faithfully every Sunday because they recharge my "spiritual batteries" for the rest of the week. At church, I am an adult Sunday School teacher. I also try to pray and read the scriptures daily, both individually and with my wife to strengthen my, and our, relationship(s) with God, our Heavenly Father. I often visit the homes of families in our local congregation to ensure that their physical and spiritual needs are met, as well as just to have more friends.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

The short answer is no, not all Mormon are required to serve a mission. The longer answer is that all men, aged 18 and over, have been encouraged by God and by prophets to serve a full-time mission. Women, aged 19 and over, may also choose to serve a mission. Show more Show less
