Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - a "Mormon".

About Me

I am an officer with a real estate development firm. I am a father of three amazing young people. A college junior, a son on a mission in Brazil and a daughter preparing for college this fall. I am married to the one love of my life Jennifer for whom I am eternally grateful. She is the kindest, purest person I know. I love long hikes, skiing, anything out doors, my chocolate lab Tucker, and being with my friends and family. I am the son of a US Air Force hero and a nurse and mother of 8. I am devoted to my brothers and sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I Believe. I am often asked why I chose to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I was born into a family which are devout members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint, there came a time when I had to choose for myself. This choice occurred in my high school years. I compared and contrasted the lifestyles and teachings of my classmates with those of the other youth at church and our volunteer leaders. I felt the spirit that surrounded these young people and knew that this is where I belonged. It was here that I committed to do what devout LDS young men aged 19+ do and that was to serve a two-year volunteer mission. During those two years, I helped those struggling to overcome addictions, parents who wished to save their wayward youth, and young people who wanted depth and commitment in their lives. I served in both affluent and economically challenged areas. We would rise early, exercise, study and serve - all the while we lived free from media, employment and any social commitments. Riding my bike late a night coming home from a meeting with a family which was willing to completely change their lifestyle, I felt a strong assurance that I was serving as Christ would have me serve. Although I have never seen Jesus Christ, I have felt His spirit witness to my heart of His reality and have come to know that He lives. Over the following years my conviction has strengthened as I have studied and prayed, but most often when I serve my fellow man, I feel that I am working with Him and receive His assurance. I know that my service counts and that in my small way I am doing what Christ taught. During these moments, the purity of that two year mission is brought back to me and I am grateful to know that there is a plan I know where I came from and why I am here. His spirit helps me want to follow the straight and narrow path back to Him. This is why I am “Mormon” and why I believe in Christ.

How I live my faith

Part of my church assignment is to help plan activities for high school aged youth, to help inner city youth find the path to employment and college, and mentor those preparing for adulthood.
