Hi I'm Matthew

I'm one of those skinny guys, I'm a missionary, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Well, some people call me "Daddy Long Legs" others just say "that one really skinny tall guy over there" but I'm proudest to be known as a member, and a missionary, serving for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am 20 years old and have found more joy serving my Savior Jesus Christ then at any other time in my life. There's something about serving that turns your day right. I love my family, music, airplanes, hiking in the woods, fireworks, sharp things, cooking, old wise people, fishing and a woman named Kellie, not necessarily in that order, all of which I left behind to serve for two years as a missionary. I have lots of goals in life, finish my mission, get married in the temple, learn how to play basketball cause it's embarrassing when your 6 foot 5 and can hardly play, get a career, become a famous rapper and a cowboy, gain 20 pounds and have adventures all the time.

Why I am a Mormon

well, when I say I'm a Mormon, it's who I am, not just what I believe. I followed in my parents footsteps because it's how I grew up. That is until I felt the need to find out for myself, which I did. I never saw God or angels, but I know this church is true just as if I had. My conviction came over time, and continues to grow, as I read and study sacred scripture, ponder and pray in faith. It's a life-long process I think. I believe that one man, Joseph Smith, was visited by our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and through him the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored in it's fullness. This same conviction drives me to serve for two years as a full-time missionary, in which service I am gaining more then I ever gave up. I am a member of the church because it's the only thing that brings purpose and a true sense of belonging into my life and I know exactly what I need to do to return to live with God again.

How I live my faith

I think those who live their faith share it with others, which is what I am doing as a full-time missionary. For two years and the remainder of my life, I get to live my faith.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The temple is the house of the lord, and only those who are worthy of the standards set by the Lord should enter. To learn how to prepare to go inside, Talk to the missionaries and the leaders of branches and wards close to you! Show more Show less
